    It certainly is, then so is peeding, dropping litter etc.

    I doubt if anyone can pass the day without breaking some law or other.

    In reality, the laws are to stop situations getting out of hand. So it is with copying music and films. Keeping such activities within ones own space is not likely to catch the eye of the copyright police. Go public, and the www is public, and you well might.

    So by all means make that 8mm movie and use the Rolling Stones as backing music, but only ever show it in your own front room, not the church hall.
